August 2017 Charity of the Month: Project Cool
Aug 1, 2017, 7:34 AM | Updated: 7:44 am

Project Cool has been named Bonneville Seattle鈥檚 Charity of the Month for August for their support for students in the homeless community.
Each homeless student that receives a backpack can walk into class with the same new supplies as their classmates and feel confident, prepared and have a great first day of school. These backpacks are carefully packed by community members with school supplies, USB drives, and dental health items collected through generous donations.
Additionally, Project Cool and the Coalition work to support students beyond the backpacks through a published guide for teachers, families, and students to understand educational rights for homeless students and provide trainings on how to support them.
Through community donations and drives, Project Cool is able to provide durable, reliable and high quality school supplies to set students up for a successful year of school. Project Cool is a program of the Seattle & King County Coalition on Homelessness and will reach over 1,000 homeless students this year. For more information and how you can help, visit .
