HomeAid Puget Sound has been named Bonneville Seattle鈥檚 Charity of the Month for December for its dedication to building and remodeling multi-unit housing for temporarily homeless men, women and children.
Since its foundation in 2014, HomeAid Puget Sound has developed housing projects with the support of trade partners and volunteers. Once those projects are completed, professional nonprofit social service providers take over to provide programs and services that help residents regain strength and purpose in a safe environment. Programs and services provided to the new residences can include, counseling, job skills training, substance abuse recovery, childcare and much more.
The truth about homelessness is that 28% are homeless due to job loss, 23% are homeless because of the high cost of living, and 20% are homeless as the result of a bad relationship or family breakup. HomeAid鈥檚 housing plans combined with social service programs are taking steps to remedy Seattle鈥檚 prominent homelessness issue.
Support for HomeAid is provided by an alliance of local building, banking, land acquisition, mortgage and real estate industry organizations. For more information about HomeAid and how you can get involved, visit .
