February 2019 Charity of the Month: Buffalo Soldiers Museum Tacoma

The Buffalo Soldiers Museum in Tacoma has been named Bonneville Seattle’s charity of the month for February 2019. Opening in Tacoma in 2012, the museum is a community resource that educates visitors on a significant part of American history that is often overlooked, and why their overall education efforts focus specifically on the Buffalo Soldiers.
Through educational programs, historic research, youth outreach, and exhibits, the Buffalo Soldiers Museum educates the public on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers and their service and contributions to our country. The museum is one of two in the country dedicated to honoring the Buffalo Soldiers – the other is the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum in Houston.
