July 2019 Charity of the Month: WA-BLOC

Bonneville Seattle is proud to name WA-BLOC as its July 2019 Charity of the Month. Their mission is to empower youth of color through academic, creative and place based leadership.
WA-BLOC, which stands for Building Leaders of Change, uses four approaches to develop youth into powerful leaders. Through inter-generational leadership, restorative justice, youth and parent engagement and racial equity, WA-BLOC’s programming empowers youth to make a difference in their communities.
Additionally, WA-BLOC partners with local organizations, schools and businesses to provide training on K-12 engagement strategies as well as restorative justice, which addresses the root causes of educational inequity.
