...

Washington Kids in Transition has been named Bonneville Seattle’s Charity of the Month for June, for providing basic needs to homeless children in Washington State, including food, emergency closets, motel vouchers, transportation vouchers.

Their mission is to provide a daily snack to the 600+ homeless children in the Edmonds School District each school day. Some of these children will not have another meal from the time they leave school until they come back to school the next day.

Last year, Washington Kids in Transition distributed 15,000 small bags of food to local children. They also offer emergency staples to every school in the Edmonds School District to stock in an ‘emergency closet’ for these homeless children to take from in times of need. All supplies and food are generously donated at various community events, snack food drives, or by kind community members.

This local 501(c)3 organization is dedicated to making sure each child has an opportunity to be fed, shelter and an education. To learn more about these programs and how you can get involved, visit .
