A man was stabbed Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Seattle’s New Holly neighborhood, the (SPD) confirmed.
Staff working at an apartment complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., between Myrtle and Willow streets, found a 47-year-old lying unconscious in the building lobby. He appeared seriously hurt, collapsing near the elevator. He was subsequently rushed to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
“It appears it happened at another location, maybe in an apartment, and the victim got into the elevator and went downstairs,” said SPD Detective Pritchard. “We don’t know if he was trying to get someone to help him.”
The stabbing victim is in serious condition, as of this reporting. It wasn’t until he arrived at the hospital that law enforcement learned he was the victim of a stabbing.
“We have his information, but we don’t know if he was visiting a friend, or if he actually lives in the building,” said Pritchard.
Officers checked an apartment that may be connected to the stabbing, according to SPD, but no one was there. No suspects have been arrested.
The homicide/assault unit has taken over the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the SPD’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
