‘Maddening:’ KTTH, 成人X站 Newsradio hosts dissect Trump and Vance’s exchange with Zelenskyy

President Donald Trump shouted at Ukraine’s leader on Friday during an extraordinary meeting in the Oval Office, berating President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for 鈥済ambling with millions of lives鈥 and suggesting his actions could trigger World War III.
The last 10 minutes of the nearly 45-minute engagement devolved into a tense back-and-forth between Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Zelenskyy 鈥 who had urged skepticism about Russia鈥檚 commitment to diplomacy, citing Moscow鈥檚 years of broken commitments on the global stage.
It began with Vance telling Zelenskyy, 鈥淢r. President, with respect. I think it鈥檚 disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media.鈥
Zelenskyy tried to object, prompting Trump to raise his voice and say, 鈥淵ou鈥檙e gambling with the lives of millions of people.鈥
鈥淵ou鈥檙e gambling with World War III, and what you鈥檙e doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that鈥檚 backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have,鈥 Trump said.
“You’re gambling with WWIII.”

It was an astonishing display of open antagonism in the Oval Office, a setting better known for somber diplomacy. Trump laid bare his efforts to coerce Zelenskyy to agree to giving the U.S. an interest in his country鈥檚 valuable minerals and to push him toward a diplomatic resolution to the war on the American leader鈥檚 terms.
Earlier in the meeting Trump said the U.S. would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, but said he hoped that not too much aid would be forthcoming. 鈥淲e鈥檙e not looking forward to sending a lot of arms,鈥 Trump said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to getting the war finished so we can do other things.鈥
Trump suggested that Zelenskyy wasn’t in a position to be demanding concessions.
“You鈥檙e not in a good position. You don鈥檛 have the cards right now,鈥 Trump said pointing his finger toward Zelenskyy. 鈥淲ith us you start having cards.鈥
He also accused Zelenskyy of being 鈥渄isrespectful鈥 to the U.S.
鈥淚t鈥檚 going to be a very hard thing to do business like this,鈥 Trump told Zelenskyy at one point, as the two leaders talked over each other about past international support for Ukraine.
鈥淎gain, just say thank you,鈥 Vance interjected to Zelenskyy, blasting him for litigating 鈥渄isagreements鈥 in front of the press. Trump, though, suggested he was fine with the drama. 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 good for the American people to see what鈥檚 going on,鈥 he added.
鈥淵ou’re not acting at all thankful,鈥 Trump said, before adding, 鈥淭his is going to be great television.鈥
The harsh words came at a pivotal and precarious moment for Ukraine. Zelenskyy had planned to try to convince the White House to provide some form of U.S. backing for Ukraine’s security against any future Russian aggression.
KTTH host weighs in
Jason Rantz, host of “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH, told viewers to stay vigilant.
“Pay attention to the anti-Trump and, sometimes, anti-American media voices that will pretend we somehow have to give in and do anything Ukraine wants 鈥 even if it doesn鈥檛 get us to peace or serve international security and American interests,” he wrote on X.

Rantz believes both American and Ukrainian interests can and should be saved; however, “Zelensky has to want both, too,” he wrote on X.
He stated that Zelenskyy “was either looking for a fight or was acting as if it was the Biden admin in the Oval. Either way, it proved to be unwise.”
“What should be seen as maddening is that neither Trump nor Vance appeared looking for a fight,” he added.
What should be seen as maddening is that neither Trump not Vance appeared looking for a fight. Trump graciously greets Zelensky and I think wanted to talk in good faith. But then Zelensky decided to pull that stunt unnecessarily.

成人X站 Newsradio host calls Trump and Vance’s actions ‘disgraceful’
“Disgraceful” and “embarrassing” were the words Spike O’Neill, co-host of “The Jake and Spike Show,” used to describe the actions of the president and vice president.
“It appears that the United States under President Trump has ended a world order that has helped maintain global peace, prosperity, and security for nearly 80 years,” he stated in an email to MyNorthwest.
He also believes Trump and Vance echoed Russian propaganda in the Oval Office, adding, “Defending Vladimir Putin is an embarrassment to our nation and betrays the foundations that founded and built this nation.”
“President Trump conditioning U.S. assistance to an ally on what could be described as extortion of mineral rights is more gangster than diplomacy,” he stated.
Zelenskyy had been聽聽a landmark economic agreement with the U.S. aimed at financing the reconstruction of war-damaged聽, a deal that would closely tie the two countries together for years to come.
The deal, which is seen as a step toward ending the聽, referenced the importance of聽. Earlier in the meeting, before tempers flared, Trump said the agreement would be signed soon in the East Room of the White House.
鈥淲e have something that is a very fair deal,鈥 Trump said, adding, 鈥淚t is a big commitment from the United States.鈥
He said the U.S. wants to see the killing in the war stopped, adding that U.S. money for Ukraine should be “put to different kinds of use like rebuilding.鈥
Earlier, Zelenskyy called Russian President Vladimir Putin a terrorist and told Trump that Ukraine and the world need 鈥渘o compromises with a killer.鈥
“Even during the war there are rules,” Zelenskyy said.
Spike believes Trump failed to acknowledge Zelenskyy’s “valid concerns of lack of security and loss of sovereignty.”
“Trump conditioning U.S. assistance in defending his nation further clarifies that Trump is repositioning Unites States foreign policy to side with the aggressor in the largest conflict since WW2,” he stated.
Jake and Spike dispute Trump, Zelenskyy deal in comparison to ‘Shark Tank’
Jake Skorheim, co-host of “Jake and Spike,” compared the deal to the TV show “Shark Tank.”
“One of the best things about ‘Shark Tank’ and the reason those those businesses go in there is because they’re like, kind of the scrappy little guy who wants to go to a shark, like a Mark Cuban or Mr. Wonderful,” Jake said.
“It’s OK that we’re the shark in this scenario; the US government is the shark in this area?” Spike responded.
“No, do you watch Shark Tank?” Jake asked.
“I do,” Spike replied.
“Do you think that those are predatory investors in those companies?” Jake asked.
To which Spike said, “Absolutely they are, why else would they be getting involved if there wasn’t something in it for them?”
“Spike, that’s called commerce,” Jake proclaimed.
“Yeah, that’s not called governance or international diplomacy,” Spike said. “Those are different monsters.”

‘Gee and Ursula’ fill-in hosts discuss meeting
Angela Poe Russell, filling in on “The Gee and Ursula Show” on 成人X站 Newsradio, was hearing the fight for the first time on the air.
“I’m just kind of getting my jaw off the floor,” she said.
Mike Lewis, also filling in on “Gee and Ursula,” said the path forward is going to be rocky.
“So if you want to draw a through line, from why meta nuzzled up to the Trump administration, why Jeff Bezos nuzzled up to the Trump administration? This is what happens,” he said. “You decide to push back a little bit. There literally are lobbyists who advise people on how to speak to the president because this sort of detonation, which actually with him, may result in a change in policy. This is going to be a very bumpy path for the Ukraine situation moving forward because of this moment because Zelensky is a guy who’s been literally under pressure, under fire and holding it together.”
Angele feels as if the support for Ukraine is shifting.
“It seems like it changed,” she said. “It seems at one time there was much for support for helping Ukraine.”
Mike noted the conversation is going to be brought up again.
“Either you’ve heard enough and you don’t want to hear any more about it, or you should lean in on this one because it is not going to go away anytime soon,” he said.

Zelenskky leaves White House on shaky terms
Zelenskyy then abruptly left the White House without signing a critical minerals deal with the U.S. that Trump had demanded and suggested was a condition for future support for Ukraine.
Untouched salad plates and other lunch items were being packed up outside the Cabinet room where the lunch between Trump and Zelenskyy and their delegations was supposed to have taken place.
This was Zelenskyy鈥檚 fifth White House visit, but his previous four came during the Biden administration. The Ukrainian president also was meeting with U.S. senators during his time in Washington.
Fears that Trump could broker a peace deal with Russia that is unfavorable to Ukraine have been amplified by recent聽聽by his administration. Trump held a lengthy聽, and U.S. officials met with their Russian counterparts in Saudi Arabia without inviting European or Ukrainian leaders 鈥 both dramatic breaks with previous U.S. policy to isolate Putin over his invasion.
Trump later seemed to聽聽for starting the war, and called Zelenskyy a 鈥渄ictator鈥 for not holding elections after the end of his regular term last year, though Ukrainian law prohibits elections while martial law is in place.
Ukraine continues to push back against Russia
As Ukrainian forces hold out against聽聽by Russia鈥檚 larger and better-equipped army, leaders in Kyiv have pushed to ensure a potential U.S.-brokered peace plan would include guarantees for the country鈥檚 future security.
Many Ukrainians fear that a hastily negotiated peace 鈥 especially one that makes too many concessions to聽聽鈥 would allow Moscow to rearm and consolidate its forces for a future invasion after current hostilities cease.
According to the聽, seen by The Associated Press, the U.S. and Ukraine will establish a co-owned, jointly managed investment fund to which Ukraine will contribute 50% of future revenues from natural resources, including minerals, hydrocarbons and other extractable materials.
Speaking about the rare earths agreement, Trump said the U.S. is lacking in many such minerals while Ukraine has among the best on the planet. He said U.S. interests plan to take those reserves and use them on everything from artificial intelligence operations to military weapons.
Asked about long-term security guarantee to guard against future Russian aggression, Trump says once the agreement is signed that a return to fighting was unlikely.
Trump, a Republican, has framed the emerging agreement as a chance for Kyiv to compensate the U.S. for wartime aid sent under his predecessor, Democratic President Joe Biden.
But Zelenskyy has remained firm that specific assurances for Ukraine鈥檚 security must accompany any agreement giving U.S. access to Ukraine鈥檚 resources.
