In what KTTH host Bryan Suits says was one of the “easiest, no brainers,” Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell announced this week that outside dining will be allowed to continue.

“I’ve always loved outside dining,” Suits said, or at least having the choice.

“To me, outside dining up here is a lot like having a pool. You can use it maybe two months out of the year,” said Greg Tomlin, show producer. “I don’t like sitting in 45 degree weather outside, personally.”

“But coffee outside? On a stormy day, if you’re out in the rain, just wear a jacket and have your coffee outside,” Suits said.

“Because it’s Seattle,” as Suits said, homelessness was the next subject brought up at the press conference when the mayor announced the outdoor dining permit extension.

“In the very near future, you’ll see us continue our efforts to make sure our sidewalks are free of obstructions and people are out of camps and in housing,” the mayor replied.

“I’m not going to give specifics about whether it’s going be three Tuesdays from tomorrow or something like that, but and we’ll implement the plan and I’m going to leave it there,” he added.

“Not an answer,” Suits commented. “Isn’t that an amazing dodge? It’s almost the Inslee dodge, the ‘I don’t hear anyone saying that.'”

“Don’t ask me about the plan because we have a plan and we’re going to stick to the plan,” Suits said, summarizing what Harrell said in his answer.
