Black History Month celebrations continue, and this weekend at the Northwest African American Museum, it’s the Black Art Takeover. This is a celebration of local black communities and their creatives with a pop-up market, guided museum tours, panels, film screenings, STEM activities for the kids, and lots more. The Chinatown-International District is hosting a free Lunar New Year celebration at Hing Hay Park this weekend. There will be plenty of vendors, and the event’s website says there will be over 40 food walk destinations to enjoy while soaking in live music and dancing. This is going on Saturday from 11 to 4. More details are available at . Also, this weekend is the Chinese Expulsion Remembrance Rally and March in the International District. This will also start at Hing Hay Park at 10 AM on Saturday.
Enjoy old movies with a twist! Jet City Improv is putting on Twisted Flicks! This has been a program since 1997, and the idea is to take old “B” movies and combine them with improv, music, and lots more. This weekend’s movie is Masters of the Universe and will be on Saturday at 7:30 PM at the UHeights Auditorium. Get tickets and details at .

Here’s a cool event for you and the kids: the 32nd Washington State Train Show and Marketplace at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds! There will be impressive model train displays and layouts, workshops that will sharpen your skills as a model maker, and, of course, plenty of vendors to buy things to add to your collection. Not only will there be plenty to see, but this is also a fundraising event for the Snohomish County 4-H Foundation.
