Homeless man found dead after encampment tent fire in Seattle

A homeless man was found dead early Saturday morning after a tent fire broke out in an encampment in the Haller Lake neighborhood, prompting an investigation by and Fire.
Seattle police received reports around 7:12 a.m. of a tent on fire with someone inside near the intersection of 135th Street and Stone Avenue North. When officers arrived, they discovered a burned tent and a deceased individual inside.
The Seattle Fire Department responded shortly after and confirmed the man鈥檚 death at the scene.
The King County Medical Examiner鈥檚 Office has taken custody of the victim鈥檚 body and will determine the cause of death. Police have not yet released the man鈥檚 identity.
