Frontier at Paine Field
Frontier Airlines will begin service at Paine Field on June 2nd, offering direct flights to Denver, Las Vegas and Phoenix. Each route will fly three times per week with an introductory price of $39.
This marks a new airport for Frontier, which has traditionally been dominated by Alaska Airlines.
Paine Field was as part of a Works Progress Administration initiative to stimulate economic growth. During World War II, the Army Air Corps took over the airport, and in 1966, Boeing established a plant there for the production of the B-747, fueling the region’s aerospace industry. Today, over fifty businesses operate at Paine Field, providing more than 30,000 jobs.
Currently, Paine Field is served by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, with Alaska Airlines offering flights to destinations such as Honolulu (seasonal), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs (seasonal), Phoenix, San Diego, and San Francisco.
