$56,000 for a piece of real estate in Seattle sounds pretty affordable these days. But, as ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Newsradio’s Lisa Brooks reports, that price isn’t for a house or a condo.

, somebody shelled out $56,000 for a parking spot. Yes, you read that right, a parking spot.

Granted, it isn’t just any parking spot. It’s located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, within walking distance to landmarks such as Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, and the Olympic Sculpture Park. The listing says it’s large and flat (Editor’s Note: We would hope so!) and easily fits a full-sized sedan, SUV or truck.

Plus, the savvy real estate agent who sold the 130-square-foot space at says high speed internet is available, just in case the owner wants to work out of their car.

Seattle to adjust paid street parking rates starting March 28

The average going rate for a parking spot near Pike Place Market is around $300 per month. If our math is right, it would take a little over 15 years (not including inflation) to pay that off.

Let’s just hope somebody doesn’t park in this person’s spot unannounced.

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Newsradio’s Lisa Brooks contributed to this report.
