The surviving members of Nirvana reunited once again鈥攖his time with Post Malone鈥攄uring the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary concert at Radio City Music Hall on Friday night. It’s getting a lot of social media buzz.
The performance, introduced by comedian Adam Sandler, was a highlight of the evening as Post Malone joined Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear onstage for a rendition of the band鈥檚 classic, Smells Like Teen Spirit. Sandler reminisced about Nirvana鈥檚 legendary SNL appearances during his tenure as a cast member in the early 1990s before welcoming the band to the stage.
The surviving members had performed together sporadically, including at Nirvana鈥檚 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014 and the 2018 Cal Jam festival. They have also collaborated under the moniker 鈥淪irvana鈥 with Paul McCartney in the past.
Takes a lot of guys to cover 鈥淪mells Like Teen Spirit鈥 with Nirvana鈥.but I think Post Malone actually kind of killed it

Post Malone is no stranger to Nirvana covers
Post Malone鈥檚 involvement with Nirvana鈥檚 music is not new; in 2020, the singer streamed a widely praised lockdown tribute performance featuring 15 Nirvana covers, with Blink-182鈥檚 Travis Barker on drums. Grohl himself praised Malone鈥檚 set at the time, calling it 鈥渟uper cool.鈥 That performance will be released on vinyl this April as a Record Store Day exclusive.
The reunion and rendition earned mixed reactions on social media. Some loved the rendition, others panned it.
I agree. He *literally* killed it.
As in, that song will never be what it once was again.
RIP.
Post Malone really should spend a lot less time drinking and smoking and acting put upon, and work with a professional voice coach to acquire both a better music ear and voice.

This wasn’t an opera. You ever hear Kurt perform live? The screeches are all over the place, but it just works because this is Rock. And if you like the original, they literally recorded it so you can hear it as much as you’d like.

Hes literally everything Cobain hated.

Just doesn鈥檛 have the voice, but doing *the* song with a legendary band takes some guts, give him props
