The suspect in King County’s first murder of 2025 is in custody following his arrest Monday in Utah.
It started with a fight on January 10 in Tukwila and ended with a 16-year-old stabbed to death.
“This was a fight, and one guy pulled out a knife and it escalated,” Casey McNerthney with the King County Prosecutor’s Office said. “Then, investigators say he fled the state.”

Investigators said the suspect, 20-year-old Jose Antonio Cedeno-Ponce was located and arrested by the FBI and local authorities in Utah County, Utah.
“That case was charged by King County prosecutors who filed murder in the second degree and we expect him to be returned here so he can face a jury for his alleged crime,” McNerthney said.
Cedeno-Ponce is currently held at the Utah County, Utah Jail.
