Littering leftover chicken leads to shooting at Rainier Valley Safeway

A Seattle Police Department (SPD) investigation uncovered that a shooting that occurred outside of a Rainier Valley Safeway Monday night was spurred by a man throwing a chicken bone out of his car window.
A man went to the Rainier Valley Safeway for “Cheap Chicken Monday,” according to a Seattle police incident report obtained by . While eating in his car, the man threw a chicken bone out the window, hitting another car parked next to him.
A woman exited the car that got hit with the chicken and started yelling at him. The two argued, and at one point, according to the police report, she grabbed a pair of scissors and tried slashing the man’s tires. The two eventually wrestled to the ground, according to police.
A Safeway security guard got involved in the scuffle, separating them, before she pulled out a gun and shot the man in the leg. The shooter’s girlfriend exited the car and attacked the man as well before they both drove off, speeding past officers just as they were arriving, per FOX 13.
The victim, 37, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. An to help cover his medical bills has been set up.
No arrests have been made, as of this reporting.
